- This study investigated the effectiveness of The Daily Mile in improving fitness of Italian children and the feasibility of the initiative in 5 primary schools. For 3 months, 486 children (age 7-9 years) took part in The Daily Mile 3 times per week and 309 children continued usual activities as a control
- After 3 months, physical fitness improvements were demonstrated via a 6-min run test and standing long jump. Furthermore, the teachers saw positive effects within their school environment after doing The Daily Mile, commenting that the programme was easy to implement and well-received by students.
