- This study investigated the long-term effects of The Daily Mile on cognition, wellbeing and fitness in 6,908 of children (age 10-11 years). 474 children participated for less than 2 months (short-term), 1,004 participated for more than 3 months (long-term), and 5,430 did not participate (control).
- The long-term group showed higher fitness levels, measured by a multistage 20m shuttle run test. Improved visual-spatial working memory based off performance of a computer-based task was observed in the short-term group.
